I received this gel and it was nicely packaged and had a security seal inside from the manufacturer. I says it smells of strawberries, but I don't think so, but it smells nice.
I have 4c low porosity hair and I used it with the rice water leave in and my hair just loved them both. The product just sank in my hair and left little ringlets. It dried quite quickly with air drying, then I finished off with diffusing. This is a firm hold gel with a strong cast, which is good if you have short to medium hair and great for a taper cut as it holds the style well.
It kept my curls for 5 days without retouching or rewetting.
I love this gel and would definitely buy again.
Fantastic gel. I have got best results from scrunching into soaking wet hair after using bowl method. Great clumps, hardly any frizz, and a natural feel after breaking the cast.
I got this gel as an alternative to wetline, reading all these reviews praising its hold. It is a very nice gel indeed, excellent ingredients, very moisturising (you will still need a cream though)... but hold? I have high-porosity hair that seems to just drink it up! I will keep using it, maybe next time it won't be on soaking wet hair. I just need to find its sweet spot I guess.
I have loose curls 2c which need a bit of help to stay put - this gel has so much hold there is no frizz and curls stay in place all day. The only downside is it needs to be kept in the fridge, so it isn’t in the bathroom when you need it. I would thoroughly recommend this product if you need a strong hold gel.i
I’m a big fan of Ecoslay’s Orange Marmalade and wanted to try this out as well. Jello Shot is much more like a classic gel than Orange Marmalade which is more like a lotion in consistency. This one is pretty thick so you only need a small amount and I mixed it with a bit of water to make it easier to distribute. It is labelled for ‘rebellious curls’ - I have 2B:2C waves but I like a strong hold product and this does the job brilliantly!
